BRIEF HISTORY OF THE BANYO ARMY DEPOT

The History of Banyo Army Depot: - Advance Ordnance Vehicle Park, 1 Sub Depot moved from Kessels Road, Mount Gravatt to Banyo in 1947 as 7 Advance Base Ordnance Depot consisting of Groups 1 and 2. Group 2 moved to Meeandah in 1949 / 50.Old Army Truck
Advance Base Ordnance Depot was renamed to Group 1, 1 Base Ordnance Depot in 1948, another change in 1974 to 116 Supply Company. In 1977 it changed to Vehicle Company 11th Supply Battalion. In 1990 it changed to Vehicle Company Brisbane Logistic Battalion and the last reported change was Vehicle Company Brisbane Logistic Group.
Due to the policy makers in the Federal Government the Banyo Vehicle Depot is no longer and today the site is a housing real-estate.
